Ordering & customisation

How do I order custom furniture from Woodstocks Enterprises?

Ordering happens entirely over WhatsApp. Message us at +91 90451 09018 with the piece you have in mind, a catalogue item, a photo, or even a Pinterest board, along with your room dimensions. We discuss wood, finish, and sizing, send a sketch and quote, and begin building once you confirm.

There's no checkout cart because no two pieces we make are identical. The conversation usually takes two or three exchanges: you tell us what you're making and where it needs to fit, we suggest the right wood and proportions (and push back honestly if something won't age well), and you approve the final sketch before any timber is cut.

Can you rebuild a catalogue piece in a different size or wood?

Yes, every piece in our catalogue can be rebuilt in any dimension, any of our three woods (teak, sheesham, or mango), and any finish. The catalogue is a starting point, not a fixed inventory. Made-to-measure is the default at Woodstocks, not an upgrade.

If you've found a dining table you love but your space needs it 20 cm narrower, or you want a bed we built in teak made in sheesham instead, that's a normal order for us. Mention the product name or link when you WhatsApp us.

Can you build furniture from a photo or my own design?

Yes. Send us a photo, sketch, or reference image on WhatsApp along with your dimensions, and we'll assess whether it can be built well in solid wood, suggest any changes needed for strength or proportions, and send you a quote and sketch before starting.

We'll also tell you honestly when a design won't work. Some internet designs rely on engineered board or hidden hardware that doesn't translate to solid wood joinery. In those cases we propose an adaptation that will actually last.

Pricing & payment

How much does custom solid wood furniture cost?

Custom solid wood furniture at Woodstocks starts around ₹4,000 to ₹8,000 for small accent pieces (wall decor, mirror frames, corner tables) and runs to ₹3,50,000 or more for fully hand-carved teak statement pieces. As a benchmark: a simple mango wood twin bed starts near ₹25,000, while a king-size Maharaja bed in carved teak (saagwan) with a duco finish can reach ₹3,50,000.

The low end of each range below reflects mango wood with clean, minimal lines; the high end reflects premium teak with detailed hand-carving and premium finishes. Sheesham typically falls in between. Four things move the price: size, wood, carving detail, and (for seating) upholstery.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept UPI and bank transfer within India, and PayPal, SWIFT wire transfer, or Wise for overseas customers (message us and we will share the relevant details privately). Payment is split: 40% to begin the build and 60% before dispatch, with progress photos shared throughout.

Because every piece is made to order and quoted individually, we confirm the amount and the split in writing before any work starts, so you always know what you are paying and when.

Woods & craftsmanship

Which is better: teak, sheesham, or mango wood?

Teak (saagwan) is the most durable and moisture-resistant, the best choice for heirloom pieces and humid climates, at the highest price. Sheesham (Indian rosewood) offers rich, dramatic grain and excellent strength at a mid-range price. Mango wood is sustainable, sturdy, and the most affordable, ideal for accent pieces and tighter budgets.

There is no single "best", it depends on the piece, the room, and the budget. A dining table that will seat three generations argues for teak; a striking TV cabinet shows off sheesham’s grain; a guest-room side table is a perfect use of mango. We’ll recommend honestly for your specific piece.

Do you use MDF, plywood, or engineered wood?

No. Every Woodstocks piece is built entirely in solid wood, teak, sheesham, or mango, with traditional joinery. We have never used MDF, particleboard, or veneer-over-board construction, and we never will. It is the founding rule of the workshop.

Solid wood costs more and takes longer, but it can be repaired, re-finished, and re-jointed for generations. MDF furniture, once damaged by moisture or a broken joint, is finished. That longevity is the whole point of building only in solid hardwood.

Why is Saharanpur famous for wooden furniture?

Saharanpur, in Uttar Pradesh, India, is one of the world’s oldest wood-carving centres, with a craft tradition spanning several centuries. The city is known for intricate hand-carved hardwood work, and generations of families, including ours, have trained at the bench here.

Our master craftspeople have decades of experience each.

Shipping & delivery

Do you ship furniture internationally?

Yes. We crate and ship worldwide from our workshop in Saharanpur, India, with door-to-door delivery. We have delivered to customers in India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, the UK, the USA, Canada and Australia, and can quote shipping to most countries.

Each piece is custom-crated for sea or air freight. International customers manage the entire commission over WhatsApp: design discussion, progress photos and voice notes during the build, and tracking through delivery. Import duties and customs clearance are included in the price we quote, so there are no surprises on arrival.

How long does delivery take?

A typical piece takes about six weeks to build from design confirmation, plus shipping time that varies by destination. Message us on WhatsApp for the current shipping timeline to your country. We share progress photos during the build so you always know where your piece stands.

Complex carved pieces (temples, Maharaja beds) can take longer; we'll give you a realistic timeline in the quote rather than an optimistic one. If a build runs late, we tell you why. Our customers value honesty over excuses.

How is the furniture protected during shipping?

Every piece is wrapped, corner-protected, and packed in a custom-built wooden crate sized to that specific piece before it leaves the workshop. International shipments travel fully crated and insured in transit.

If anything is damaged in transit, we make it right, see the question below on damaged deliveries.

After delivery

What if my furniture arrives damaged?

Photograph the damage before and during unpacking and send it to us on WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery. We repair or remake the affected piece per our Refund & Replacement policy, solid wood can almost always be repaired, and we stand behind every piece we ship.

Replacement or repair is our standard remedy for pieces damaged in transit or with a genuine manufacturing defect. Please include your order details and clear photographs of the issue and, where relevant, the packaging.

How do I care for solid wood furniture?

Keep solid wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources, wipe with a soft dry or barely-damp cloth, use coasters under hot or wet items, and re-oil or polish once or twice a year depending on the finish. Avoid silicone sprays and harsh cleaners, they damage natural finishes.

Solid teak, sheesham, and mango are forgiving materials; small scratches can be buffed out and finishes renewed indefinitely.

Still have a question?

Every piece is made to order in your choice of wood, finish and dimensions. Tell us what you are thinking and we will talk it through, and send you a sketch and quote.
