Yes, sagwan is the Hindi name for teak (Tectona grandis). It is one of the best woods for a bed because its high natural oil content makes it unusually resistant to warping, insects and moisture, so a sagwan bed frame stays solid and true for decades.
Fresh teak is a warm golden brown that deepens with age. If you prefer a different wood, we also build beds in sheesham (Indian rosewood) and mango wood.
- Can you make a bed in a custom size?
Yes. Every bed we make is built to your exact dimensions, so you are not limited to standard king or queen sizes. Tell us the width, length and headboard height you need and we build to it precisely.
